DLA Candidates Endorse Tinubu for 2027 Elections

As the 2027 general elections approach, a forum of governorship candidates from the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election. The announcement was made by the forum, led by Taraba state governorship candidate Hon. Aboki Bayonga, during a press conference in Abuja.

The candidates pledged to mobilize their grassroots political structures to ensure Tinubu's victory and will collaborate with Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) for this purpose. Other DLA candidates present included Alhaji Adamu Idrisu Chado from Kaduna, Hon. Bekky Folorunso James from Osun, Prof Valdya Tame from Adamawa, Hon. Ibrahim Musa from FCT, Hon. Sam Umar from Plateau, Alhaji Sani Mohammed from Gombe, Hon. Nnamdi Ugwu from Enugu, and Hon. Brent Micheal from Bauchi.

The DLA candidates clarified that their support for Tinubu does not equate to a defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and that they will continue to pursue their political ambitions under the DLA. Bayonga stated that the decision was made after consultations among party members, noting that the DLA lacks a presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
