APC Chairman Yilwatda Backs Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid

On September 26, 2026, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserted that Nigerians who are benefiting from President Bola Tinubu's policies will support his candidacy for a second term in the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Maiduguri, Yilwatda highlighted various groups, including labourers, market women, food sellers, vendors, and drivers using roads built under Tinubu's administration, as key supporters.

He praised the core policies of the Tinubu administration, particularly in macroeconomic restructuring, infrastructure expansion, and social interventions under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Yilwatda indicated that the APC is "strong and healthy" ahead of the elections and has expressed confidence in its presidential candidate and running mate.

He called for the formation of reconciliation committees to address internal party differences and emphasized the need for party members to support Tinubu for a second term. Additionally, he extended condolences to the people of Niger State over a recent tragic incident.
