The forum's chairman, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, urged Tinubu to maintain the status quo and retain Shettima, pointing to their successful ticket in the 2023 election.

Zazzaga argued that replacing Shettima could lead to a loss of support from the northern Muslim community. The APC Forum also countered claims that changing the ticket would result in a loss of support from the Middle Belt, highlighting key positions held by prominent Middle Belt Christians in the APC government.

Zazzaga accused individuals of seeking to defeat Tinubu in 2027 and advised him to stick to the winning formula of 2023 to secure reelection. The forum warned against alienating the northern Muslim community by focusing on northern Christians, as this approach.
