Zulum Thanks Tinubu for Shettima's VP Nomination

Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State, thanked President Bola Tinubu for retaining Kashim Shettima as his vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 presidential election. This decision is notable as it marks the first time an indigenous person from Borno State will hold the vice-presidential position, which Zulum emphasized belongs not only to Borno but to the entire northeastern region of Nigeria.

Zulum spoke during a small ceremony at the State House in Abuja, where Tinubu presented Shettima with an official certificate confirming his selection as the vice-presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. Zulum expressed appreciation on behalf of the northeastern states and indicated that he would visit to further express gratitude for the opportunity granted to Shettima, who is also a senator.
