210 Startups Advance in SEDC Challenge for Funding

The SEDC has announced that 210 startups have advanced in its startups challenge, which received a total of 1,200 applications. Among these, 128 startups were in the incubator track, and 82 were in the accelerator track.

The Executive Director and Chairman of the program, Hon. Stanlei Ohajuruka, disclosed this information in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on April 15, 2026.

The investment ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, 2026, where selected startups will receive funding as part of a structured support phase. This initiative marks a significant step in the commission's broader effort to identify and support high-potential technology-driven ventures across the region.

The evaluation process has been designed to ensure fairness and consistency, aligning with the program's objectives to advance startups at various stages, demonstrating clarity, tangible progress, and credible potential for scaling in the next phase of the competition.
