Cross River State Screens 500 Entrepreneurs for Single-Digit SME Loans to Boost Economy

Cross River State's CRSMEDA screened 500 entrepreneurs for single-digit interest SME loans in a bid to strengthen the state's small business ecosystem. The initiative, supported by Governor Ben Ayade, aims to boost economic opportunities for small businesses.

The selected entrepreneurs underwent training to develop business plans and were approved for a 5% interest rate facility. The program also includes free CAC certificate issuance and aims to register 10,000 businesses next year.

The effort was praised by the Calabar Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (CALCCIMA).
