Nyesom Wike Enables 5,990 FCTA Education Officers' Exams

A total of 5,990 education officers from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) are participating in their promotion examinations following an intervention by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The examinations commenced on 5th October and are now in their sixth day.
The head of the FCTA Civil Service, Mrs Nancy Sabanti Nathan, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting that the minister's approval allowed previously excluded officers to advance their careers. Some officers had missed an earlier examination due to protests.
Nathan emphasized the importance of the exams for career progression and addressed concerns about promotion vacancies, explaining that the extension of teachers' retirement age had slowed the creation of vacancies. Mr Emeka Ezeh, chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, confirmed the participation of approximately 5,990 education officers and assured a transparent promotion process.
Comrade Rifkatu Iortyer, president of the Joint Unions Action Congress, noted the smooth conduct of the exercise and welcomed the inclusion of teachers who missed previous exams.
