Court Freezes Victoria Island Property Dispute Involving Abacha

The Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an interim order appointing a receiver to take possession and control of a disputed property located at 68 Molade Okoya Thomas Street, off Ajose Adeogun Street, Victoria Island. This decision was made by Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa in Suit No.
FHC/LAG/CS/1245/2026, filed by Dr (Mrs) Maryam Sani Abacha against Levitikal Realties & Construction Limited. The court has restrained Levitikal Realties from engaging in any dealings with the property, including selling, transferring, or mortgaging it, until further proceedings are concluded.
The Deputy Chief Registrar of the Federal High Court, or any officer serving as Official Receiver, has been appointed as Receiver/Manager. Alternatively, Bola Adebule & Company, an estate surveying firm, or another reputable property management firm registered with the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Agency (LASRERA) may also be appointed to manage the property until the hearing and determination of Abacha’s application for an interlocutory injunction.
