Abbas Leads Presidential Committee To Mend Cracks In Bauchi APC

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has been appointed by President Bola Tinubu to lead a reconciliation committee within the Bauchi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The committee is tasked with resolving internal conflicts within the party, with members including Governor Buni of Yobe State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.

The committee held its first meeting in late July in Abuja, where they discussed the issues at hand and set a one-month deadline to complete their assignment. The origin of the crisis dates back to the party's 2015 primary elections in the state.

The committee met with key stakeholders on July 31, including former governors of Bauchi State and other party members, with a report expected to be submitted in the coming week. This intervention by President Tinubu aims to mend the cracks within the Bauchi APC and ensure party unity moving forward.
