Nigeria's Petroleum Industry Evolution Accelerated by Passage of PIA 2021

The Nigerian Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abba Tajudeen, highlighted the transformative impact of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 on the country's petroleum industry during the first annual Downstream Petroleum Week in Abuja.

The Act aims to reform the governance, administration, and fiscal framework of the industry, restructuring NNPC, establishing regulatory bodies, and promoting transparency and efficiency. The emphasis was placed on revitalizing the downstream sector, with a renewed hope agenda led by President Bola Tinubu.

The Act is expected to boost investor confidence, reduce oil pilferage, and enhance operational efficiency in the sector.
