Abejide vows to resist takeover of ADC leadership by Atiku, Mark-led coalition

ADC lawmaker Leke Abejide has vowed to resist the takeover of the party's leadership by a coalition led by Atiku Abubakar and David Mark. Representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the Kogi State House of Representatives, Abejide asserted that the ADC would not allow the newly formed opposition coalition to hijack the party without a fight.

He emphasized that the coalition, which includes prominent figures like Rotimi Amaechi and Dino Melaye, would not be allowed to take control of the party. Abejide highlighted the importance of maintaining the party's political relevance and warned that any attempt to seize leadership would be met with stiff resistance.

The lawmaker also stated that members who align with the coalition would be expelled from the ADC. Abejide's determination to protect the party's autonomy comes in the wake of the coalition's efforts to assume control ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
