Abuja Chamber of Commerce Urges Nigerian Government for Enhanced Tax Revenue Accountability

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) is urging the Nigerian government to enhance accountability in tax revenue utilization due to the growing dependence on taxation amidst rising insecurity and production costs. President of ACCI, Emeka Obegolu, emphasized the need for a new tax framework effective from January 2026 to streamline taxation processes and eliminate financial illiteracy risks.

Obegolu highlighted the adverse effects of insecurity on businesses, leading to closures and job losses, stressing the importance of security for sustainable economic growth. ACCI is collaborating with financial institutions like Afreximbank to support its members in navigating economic challenges.
