Mary Njoku Criticizes Apathy Over Oyo Kidnapped Children

Mary Njoku, a Nollywood actress and Iroko TV boss, voiced her outrage on Instagram regarding the kidnapping of schoolchildren in Oyo State. She expressed feelings of anger and heartbreak, questioning the normalization of such violent acts in Nigeria.

Njoku lamented the growing public desensitization to insecurity, stating that the fate of the kidnapped children is deeply unsettling. She highlighted the alarming frequency of kidnappings and bandit attacks, urging that the situation should not be accepted as the new normal.

Her comments came amid widespread condemnation of the abduction of 46 children in Oyo State, which has drawn reactions from several other Nollywood actors, including Ruth Kadiri, Funke Akindele, and Toke Makinwa. These actors collectively called for urgent government action to ensure the safety of children and improve security measures in schools across Nigeria.
