Adamawa Governor Fintiri Defects to APC from PDP

On Friday, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri announced his defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a press conference in Yola. This decision follows extensive consultations with stakeholders aimed at ensuring long-term stability and development for the people of Adamawa State.

Fintiri stated that his move is intended to enable the state to support President Bola Tinubu's "Renewed Hope" agenda, which focuses on social welfare, infrastructure, housing, and inclusive economic development. He emphasized that his exit from the PDP was not motivated by personal ambition but by overriding interests for the state.

Fintiri reaffirmed his administration's commitment to the mandate given in the 2019-2023 elections and pledged to uphold the state's social contract. He aims to create investment opportunities and collaborate with the federal government to increase benefits for the people of Adamawa.

The governor also highlighted various achievements in security, education, and infrastructure during his tenure.
