Adeboye Leads National Grassroots Sports Summit Prep

Preparations for the National Grassroots Sports Development Summit 2026 are underway, led by Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development. A meeting of the Main Organising Committee (MOC) was held last week to strategize for the summit, which will take place on November 18 and 19, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The summit's theme is “Creating a New Pathway for Sustainable Grassroots Sports Development.” Adeboye emphasized the need for the summit to generate practical ideas and partnerships rather than just ceremonial discussions. He highlighted the importance of a structured system for identifying and developing young talent in Nigeria.

The MOC discussed various preparation aspects, including stakeholder mobilization and logistics. The summit aims to gather stakeholders from various sectors to address challenges in grassroots sports development and propose actionable solutions.
