Adebayo Adelabu Rejects Former Aide's Defection to APM

Adebayo Adelabu, the former Minister of Power and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, has publicly distanced himself from the recent defection of his former aide, Ajiboye Akande, to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). Akande led a group of APC supporters from all 33 local government areas of Oyo State to the APM during the Boye Nation/JAF Movement Mega Concert at Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan.

In a statement from his media office, Adelabu clarified that Akande no longer serves as his personal assistant and that their working relationship ended due to disagreements over political alignments. Adelabu emphasized that he was not consulted regarding Akande's defection or comments made at the rally.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and President Bola Tinubu, stating that his concerns about the Oyo governorship nomination process are focused on transparency and legitimacy, not on abandoning the party. Adelabu also mentioned his ongoing business engagements in real estate, hospitality, farming, and financial securities.
