Adeleke heads to Abuja for APC's 2027 campaign council launch

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State traveled to Abuja on Wednesday to participate in the formal activation of the All Progressives Congress's 2027 presidential campaign structure. Footage showed the governor proceeding toward a private jet with his security contingent, heading to the Federal Capital Territory for the event.

The ceremony unfolded at the Banquet Hall within the Presidential Villa. Adeleke's involvement signals an important shift in Nigeria's political dynamics.

The APC unveiled a revised membership list this week, appointing the Osun State governor to serve as coordinator. In this capacity, he will lead efforts to generate grassroots backing across his state for President Bola Tinubu's bid for re-election.

The appointment demonstrates Tinubu's approach to assembling a diverse political alliance as the 2027 election approaches. The inauguration brought together prominent figures from across Nigeria's political establishment.

Among those featured in the updated council roster: Nyesom Wike, who heads the Federal Capital Territory; Anambra's Chief Executive Chukwuma Soludo; and Babatunde Fashola, a former Works portfolio holder. Abdulaziz Yari received appointment as Director-General overseeing the campaign machinery.

As council chairman, President Tinubu is supported by Vice President Kashim Shettima in a senior capacity. On Wednesday, the ruling party's campaign operations for 2027 commenced in earnest.

Felix Morka, serving as National Publicity Secretary for the APC, communicated the inauguration particulars via a statement issued the previous day. Attendance at the Presidential Villa ceremony remained limited to leadership of the various directorates only.
