Lookman Helps Atletico Madrid Reach Champions League Quarters

Nigerian international Ademola Lookman contributed to Atletico Madrid's advancement to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in his first season with the club. Atletico Madrid faced Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the last 16, losing 3-2 in London.

However, their 5-2 victory in the first leg secured a 7-5 aggregate win. Lookman was denied a goal in the sixth minute due to an offside call and later missed another chance in the 63rd minute.

Despite these setbacks, he assisted coach Diego Simeone's team in overcoming Tottenham. In a separate match, Galatasaray was eliminated from the tournament after a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, which overturned their slim 1-0 advantage from the first leg.

Liverpool's performance included goals from Dominik Szoboszlai, Mohamed Salah, and Ryan Gravenberch, ensuring their place in the quarter-finals against Paris Saint-Germain.
