Jamiu Adeniji Wins Best Boxer at LBHF Championships

Jamiu Adeniji emerged as the best boxer at the Lagos Boxing Hall of Fame (LBHF) Ibile Divisional Championships, which took place at Ikorodu Town Hall over the weekend. The tournament, organized in collaboration with the Lagos Amateur Boxing Association, featured 10 bouts and is part of Nigeria's longest-running grassroots amateur boxing initiative, established in July 2009 by former Minister of Finance Wale Edun.

Adeniji, representing Agboyi Ketu LCDA, faced Wahab Adiat from Ikorodu West LCDA in the men’s 50kg category, winning decisively with a 5–0 unanimous decision. His performance earned him the title of Boxer of the Tournament.

Following his victory, Adeniji expressed his excitement and ambition to represent Nigeria internationally. LBHF Director David Mohammed noted the growing popularity of the championships, anticipating an even more competitive grand finale later in the year.

The tournament also featured notable performances from other fighters across various categories.
