ADFD Reports Progress on African Road Infrastructure Projects

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has announced advancements in various infrastructure projects across Africa, with a focus on road development. The Minna-Bida road project in Niger State, Nigeria, has reached 45% completion, with funding amounting to AED 165 million.

This project aims to reduce travel time between Minna and Bida by 50% and lower vehicle operating costs by 31%. In Togo, the rehabilitation of the Sokod-Bassar road is nearing completion at 92%, with an investment of approximately AED 37 million, which includes rainwater and flood protection work.

Additionally, Madagascar is working on a 117-kilometer dual-lane road project, currently 80% complete, with funding exceeding AED 110 million. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, the project director general of ADFD, emphasized the fund's commitment to monitoring progress and ensuring high-quality implementation of these projects to stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life in beneficiary countries.
