Mozambique President Offers Bonus to Mambas to Defeat Nigeria in AFCON 2025

Mozambique's President, Daniel Francisco Chapo, has pledged a bonus of 500,000 meticais (approximately $11.3 million) to the Mambas football team to beat Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Round of 16. Despite facing tough opponents like Cote d'Ivoire and Cameroon in the group stage, Mozambique made it to the knockout stage for the first time.

The President's incentive is aimed at motivating the players to perform well against the strong Nigerian team and avoid a repeat of their early exit in the 2021 AFCON.
