The quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 are confirmed, following a thrilling round of 16 that showcased intense knockout football. Senegal was the first team to secure a quarter-final spot, extending their unbeaten run by defeating Sudan.

Mali also advanced, edging past Tunisia in a penalty shootout despite playing with ten men. The tournament host, Morocco, delivered a composed 1-0 victory against Tanzania, with Brahim Daz providing the decisive moment in front of a passionate home crowd, keeping their title hopes alive after 50 years since their last AFCON triumph.

Cameroon followed suit with a dramatic 2-1 victory over South Africa, reaffirming their experience in knockout competitions. On Monday night, Egypt defeated Benin 3-1 in extra time, with Mohamed Salah scoring the final kick.
