Senegal's Pape Gueye Admits Mistake in AFCON Final Walk-Off Against Morocco

Senegal's midfielder, Pape Gueye, acknowledged that the walk-off during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final against Morocco was a mistake. Gueye scored the winning goal in extra time, securing Senegal's 1-0 victory over Morocco in a controversial game in Rabat.

The match saw a late penalty awarded to Morocco, prompting a walk-off by the Senegalese team, which resulted in a 20-minute delay. Gueye praised his teammate Sadio Mane for urging the team to return to the game after the penalty miss by Brahim Diaz.

The Moroccan Football Federation has formally referred to the walkout incident for support from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
