Afreximbank to Host Investment Conference in Calabar

Afreximbank is organizing the sixth African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network Investment Conference from 12-14 November 2026 at the Calabar International Convention Centre in Cross River State. The conference aims to connect African state governments, investors, and development finance institutions to explore funding opportunities for infrastructure, industrialisation, and cross-border trade.
The event will focus on mobilising capital for projects that can enhance intra-African trade and support the African Continental Free Trade Area. It is being held in partnership with the Cross River State Government, Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and the Forum of State Investment Promotion Agencies.
The theme is ‘The Role of Sub-Sovereigns in Catalysing Development through Trade and Investment’. Afreximbank established AfSNET in 2021 to link subnational authorities with investors.
The network has attracted over 1,400 delegates and facilitated investment opportunities worth more than $3.2 billion. In Nigeria, Afreximbank is the financial adviser for the proposed $1.7 billion Bakassi Deep Seaport project.
