Africa Trails in Clean Energy Investment Despite Global Surge

Despite global clean energy investment nearing $2.2 trillion, Africa lags behind with only 3% of the total investment, as per the World Energy Investment 2025 report by the International Energy Agency. The report reveals that Africa's energy investment is projected at around $105 billion, significantly lower than the global average.

While the rest of the world allocates 48% to clean energy, Africa sees only 3%, with a decline in fossil fuel investments. The report attributes Africa's low share of investment to financial challenges, including currency depreciation.

This disparity highlights the need for increased clean energy investment in Africa to align with global trends and address energy needs sustainably.
