Remi Tinubu Honored for Women's Welfare Contributions

Remi Tinubu, the First Lady of Nigeria, received commendation for her contributions to women's welfare during the 29th and 30th Ordinary General Assembly of the African First Ladies’ Forum (OAFLaD) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The forum, which included partners such as AUDA-NEPAD and the Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, highlighted the urgent need for unity among African nations to address challenges faced by women and children, especially in conflict areas.

First Ladies from various countries, including Sierra Leone's Dr. Fatima Maada Bio and Ghana's Lordina Mahama, praised Senator Tinubu's efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality and improve the welfare of mothers and children.

The event underscored the critical connection between sustainable development and peace, with a focus on investing in girl child education and supporting women artisans to build sustainable livelihoods.
