Africa Green Economy Summit Seeks $3.09bn Funding

The Africa Green Economy Summit, scheduled for 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, aims to secure approximately $3.09 billion in funding for green projects across 25 African countries. The summit will facilitate investor engagement and curate a pipeline of climate solutions, focusing on early-stage small and medium enterprises, infrastructure opportunities, renewable energy, waste management, circular economy solutions, sustainable agriculture, and blue economy projects.

Key presentations will include pitch sessions designed to align founders with financial institutions, commercial banks, and venture fund specialists. Ms.

Elodi Ashdown from Vuka Group will lead the project, while Ms. Amanda Ganca from Wesgro highlighted the readiness of the investment pipeline to translate into tangible manufacturing prospects and job creation across the Western Cape and beyond.

The summit is supported by the African Union, with sponsorship from Sanlam, Standard Bank, and FSD Africa, among others.
