FIRS Establishes Trust Fund for Families of Afriland Fire Victims

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has set up a trust fund and educational sponsorship for families of staff affected by the recent Afriland Towers fire tragedy in Lagos. Following the loss of four employees in the fire incident, FIRS unveiled a comprehensive welfare scheme to provide lifetime support to the affected families.

The trust fund will ensure financial assistance and educational support for the children of the deceased staff members. FIRS Executive Chairman, Zacch Adedeji, highlighted the agency's commitment to institutionalizing a welfare scheme that transcends his tenure, aiming to offer long-term support to the bereaved families beyond immediate relief efforts.
