Nigeria has triumphed in the election for a seat on the International Maritime Organization's highest governing council after a 15-year absence. This victory marks a significant achievement for Nigeria, as it secured the coveted position by garnering 116 votes, surpassing countries like Denmark, Kenya, and Bangladesh.
