Tinubu Halts Kano Governor's Defection Amid Political Maneuvering

Following meetings involving Kwankwaso, Obasanjo, and Peter Obi, Bola Tinubu intervened to prevent Kano Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's defection to the APC. Yusuf's plans were delayed as efforts were made to seek reconciliation with Kwankwaso's faction.

The defection, initially set for January 12, was put on hold to allow last-minute attempts to retain Yusuf within the party. Abdullahi Ganduje was involved in the registration process, but the defection plans were shelved pending further developments.
