Adeyanju Mocks El-Rufai's Plea for Rule of Law

Deji Adeyanju, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, mocked former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai following an incident where security personnel attempted to arrest El-Rufai at Abuja Airport upon his return from Cairo, Egypt. El-Rufai refused the arrest and instead demanded that the security operatives send a formal invitation.

In response, Adeyanju criticized El-Rufai for his past oppression of the people while now pleading for the rule of law. He called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to address allegations of corruption and mismanagement during El-Rufai's administration.

Adeyanju questioned El-Rufai's claims of political persecution, highlighting the administration's history of suppressing opposition voices. He urged the Department of State Services (DSS) to investigate the purported security strategies linked to El-Rufai's administration, including allegations of financial inducements related to violent groups.
