Nigerian Manufacturers and Economists Offer Solutions to Rising Poverty Despite Economic Growth

Nigerian manufacturers and economists are urging the government to adopt practical measures to address the worsening living conditions of citizens, as poverty levels rise despite a 3.9% economic growth in the first half of 2025. The World Bank report highlighted concerns about price hikes and poverty rates, emphasizing the need for policy reforms to improve living standards.

Segun Ajayi Kadir, Director-General of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, stressed the importance of poverty reduction policies focusing on key areas like access to food, medicine, education, and social welfare schemes to alleviate the impact on vulnerable groups.
