APC Members Allege Electoral Fraud in Kogi Congress

On February 19, 2026, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi Central expressed their grievances regarding the ward congress, alleging that the process was hijacked and characterized by electoral fraud. Osibodi Sundai, a youth activist from Ogori Magongo, condemned the congress, stating that it lacked transparency and was manipulated by a few party officials.

Isah Adaviruku from Oken Local Government Area described the congress as the worst electoral manipulation since the return to civil rule in 1999. Members reported that the process involved writing names and submitting them to the party's national secretariat without proper elections.

Mallam Siyaka Opotu from Okehi Local Government Area criticized the congress as a waste of party resources and called for the national chairman to set up a committee to investigate the allegations. In Ajaokuta Local Government Area, members noted that the current executive was affirmed through a census method, which they felt was not credible.

Efforts to reach the state APC chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Bello, for comments were unsuccessful.
