Ahmed Musa, at 31 years old, has opted not to return to Europe, specifically dismissing a potential switch to Kazakhstani club FC Kaysar, where he was linked with former teammate Victor Moses. Instead, Musa is fully committed to reviving his current club, Kano Pillars, as they face a relegation battle in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Musa's determination is underscored by his dual role as both a player and general manager, as he aims to steer the club away from relegation and restore its past dominance. His last stint in Europe was with Turkish Super Lig side Sivasspor.

Meanwhile, Meremu Okara, head coach of Bayelsa United, is aiming for a top-nine finish in the NPFL season after a recent victory over Rivers United, which has provided some breathing space above the relegation zone.
