Aina, Awoniyi Set for Europa League as Cry’Palace Lose CAS Appeal

Super Eagles players Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina are set to compete in the UEFA Europa League, with Nottingham Forest securing a spot after Crystal Palace lost their appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Palace had challenged a UEFA ruling that they did not meet ownership compliance requirements by the March 1 deadline.

The CAS decision means Forest will now participate in the Europa League, offering them a chance to attract top players and strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. Aina, who recently signed a new deal with Forest, could play a leading role in the European campaign.

Meanwhile, Awoniyi faces competition for the number 9 role from new arrivals Chris Wood and Igor Jesus. Forest is also reportedly interested in signing Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman.

The club aims to make a big impact in European competitions this season.
