Air Peace Cancels Abuja-Maiduguri Flight Due to Fuel Shortage

On September 26, 2026, Air Peace canceled its Abuja-Maiduguri flight due to a shortage of Jet A1 aviation fuel at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, which also affected other airlines. Although the airline initially received an extension from the Maiduguri control tower allowing the flight to land after the standard cutoff, this decision was reversed before boarding began in Abuja.

The tower informed Air Peace that Maiduguri airport had reverted to Visual Flight Rules (VFR), preventing any arrivals after sunset. Passengers were kept informed during the delays and provided refreshments while waiting.

After the cancellation, Air Peace arranged hotel accommodations for those traveling to Maiduguri and planned to operate the flight the following day.
