Airport Staff Returns $1,700 and Passports to Owner

On Wednesday, at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, staff member Frank Omoroji discovered a misplaced purse in the Rwanda Air check area of the departure hall, which contained $1,700, a Nigerian passport, a British passport, and a credit card. Upon finding the purse, Omoroji immediately raised concerns to trace the owner and promptly handed the item to aviation security personnel, following standard airport procedures for recovering lost belongings.

The customs service unit quickly made a public announcement to locate the owner, who was a Nigerian passenger scheduled to travel to Kigali, Rwanda. The incident, described by airport officials as a clear demonstration of professional integrity, reinforced public confidence in airport operations.

Omoroji's actions were guided by the principles of honesty and doing the right thing, earning praise from colleagues and airport authorities for his exemplary conduct in public service.
