Airtel Money, pawaPay Seal Cross-Border Remittance Deal Across Africa

Airtel Money Africa has partnered with pawaPay to facilitate cross-border remittances across seven African countries. This collaboration allows licensed International Money Transfer Operators to process inbound remittances directly into Airtel Money wallets in Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, and Tanzania.

The initiative aims to boost financial inclusion for Airtel Money's 161 million customers by providing a secure and scalable platform with high uptime. Airtel Money Africa's CEO, Ian Ferrao, emphasized the company's commitment to building an efficient digital financial ecosystem in Africa. pawaPay's CEO, Nikolai Barnwell, highlighted the importance of remittances in Africa's digital economy and expressed the company's mission to simplify payments and promote financial inclusion.

The partnership will extend remittance services to more African markets in the coming months, supporting economic growth and community development.
