Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa Unveils Foiled Bomb Plot

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa revealed that security operations successfully foiled an alleged plot to bomb the Ondo Government House. This operation was based on intelligence reports that identified suspicious activities by a group of youths planning the attack, which was uncovered three to four months ago.

The suspects initially lodged in a hotel and later rented an apartment. Following the intelligence report, the Ondo State Police and Amotekun conducted a raid, resulting in the arrest of the suspects, who remain in custody.

Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the need for constant vigilance in the face of security challenges and noted that the investigation has yet to determine the exact motive behind the plot. He also mentioned the recent conviction of four individuals linked to the June 5, 2022, terrorist attack on St.

Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo, which resulted in the loss of 40 lives and numerous injuries. The governor reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to protect lives and property in Ondo State.
