Akande Urges Action for Leah Sharibu on 8th Anniversary

Laolu Akande, speaking on a channel, called attention to Leah Sharibu, who was abducted from the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State, eight years ago. Leah was one of the schoolgirls kidnapped in 2018 when terrorists attacked the school.

While 104 of her classmates were released following negotiations, Leah was held back because she refused to renounce her Christian faith. Akande emphasized that Leah has become a symbol of resilience and unwavering faith, enduring significant suffering since her abduction at the age of 14.

He drew parallels between her case and that of the Chibok girls, who were also abducted by terrorists in 2014 and remain unaccounted for years later. As the eighth anniversary of Leah's captivity approaches, Akande urged President Bola Tinubu's administration to make her rescue a national priority, advocating for the deployment of all available intelligence assets to locate and rescue her.
