Akpabio Urges World Leaders to Renew Humanitarian Commitment at IPU Assembly

Nigerian Senator Godswill Akpabio called on world leaders to renew their commitment to humanitarian duties during the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Akpabio highlighted the importance of prioritizing the protection of vulnerable populations and addressing global suffering.

He emphasized Nigeria's dedication to upholding its humanitarian constitution and establishing institutions like the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the National Emergency Management Agency. Akpabio also reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to multilateral cooperation and partnerships with organizations like ECOWAS, Red Crescent, World Food Programme, and the United Nations to tackle humanitarian challenges.

Nigerian delegates at the assembly included Senators Ireti Kingibe and Asuquo Ekpenyong.
