Akwa Ibom Governor Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Senior Aide

Akwa Ibom Governor has reshuffled his cabinet, leading to the redeployment of Capt Iniobong Ekong (Rtd) from the Ministry of Lands and Town Planning to the Ministry of Trade and Investment. Ubong Inyang, who previously served in Trade and Investment, has been reassigned as the head of the Ministry of Lands and Town Planning.

Additionally, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Land Matters, ESV Udeme Daniel Isa, has been relieved of his appointment with immediate effect. The reshuffle aims to strengthen the State Executive Council in line with the ARISE Agenda for change.

In other news, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has declared his intention to run for Nigeria's number one political seat in the 2027 presidential election, accusing the ruling Progressives Congress (APC) of trying to ridicule his current momentum with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
