Dangote Foundation Invests N1.5bn in BUK Scholarships

The Aliko Dangote Foundation, chaired by Africa's wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth N1.5 billion with Bayero University Kano (BUK) on Tuesday. This agreement will provide N300 million annually for five years in scholarships for eligible MBA students in entrepreneurship management.

Starting from the 2024/25 academic session, beneficiaries will receive N150,000 per session, which is 50% of the current N300,000 fee for postgraduate students. The initiative will benefit 1,225 students, including 696 new and 529 returning students.

Hajiya Mariya Aliko Dangote, a member of the ADF board of trustees, and Prof. Haruna Musa, Vice Chancellor of BUK, were present at the signing.

The program represents a strategic shift in ADF's long-standing partnership with the business school, focusing on direct investment in people and enterprise leadership development. The foundation aims to enhance social change through improved health and quality education.
