Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson dropped defamation charges against TikToker Eedi Bliss amidst public backlash on social media. Eedi Bliss was detained but regained freedom after Johnson's move.

The charges were dropped following accusations of oppression and defamation by popular social media critic Verydarkman. Verydarkman had accused Johnson and her husband, Prince Henry Okojie, of various allegations, including buying a house for a pregnant mistress.

Eedi Bliss claimed that Johnson connived with the mistress to cause a miscarriage. The situation escalated with an ultimatum issued to Johnson before the charges were dropped.
