AMVCA 2026: Stunning Fashion Moments on the Red Carpet

The AMVCA 2026, held on May 9 at Eko Hotel in Lagos, featured a red carpet that blended African culture with global fashion influences. Hosted by Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma and South African actress Nomzamo Mbatha, the event attracted numerous celebrities.

Queen Merci Atang arrived in a dress made from 500 loaves of bread, carried by two maidens, to promote her bread-baking business. This outfit became a major social media talking point, although it faced criticism for wasting food.

Idia Aisien wore a form-fitting gown made entirely of real wristwatches, designed by Ambaosa, which created a striking visual effect. Other notable appearances included Bisola Aiyeola in a futuristic silver gown, Nana Akua Addo in a gothic cathedral-inspired ensemble, and Nanci Isim in a sculpted gold dress.
