Uzor Arukwe, Uche Montana Shine at 2026 AMVCA Awards

The 2026 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place at Eko Hotel in Lagos, celebrating outstanding achievements in African film and television. "Father's Shadow" emerged as the biggest winner of the night, securing multiple awards, including Best Movie and Best Director for Akinola Davi Jr. Lateef Adedimeji won the Best Indigenous Language Film (West Africa) award for "Lisabi: The Legend Born." Uzor Arukwe received the Best Lead Actor award for his role in "Colour Fire," while Bucci Franklin won Best Supporting Actor for "Kill Monkei." Uche Montana was honored with the Trailblazer Award for her growing influence in the entertainment industry. Other notable winners included the Nigerian Idol Season 10 for Best Unscripted Show and "Beyond Olympic Glory" for Best Documentary.

The ceremony, organized by MultiChoice, remains one of Africa's largest celebrations of film and television storytelling.
