CDD-West Africa Raises Concerns Over Anambra Election Irregularities

The Center for Democracy and Development (CDD)-West Africa expressed worries about voter apathy, vote buying, and other irregularities observed during the Anambra State governorship election. Dr.

Gauda Garuba and Professor Victor Adetula highlighted instances of vote buying across the state, particularly in central and southern senatorial zones. Specific incidents included the distribution of cash payments ranging from N2,000 to N10,000 to voters by party agents in various polling units.

The CDD-West Africa emphasized the need for transparent and fair electoral processes to ensure the credibility of the election.
