Anambra Youths Condemn Politicians' Verbal Attacks on Peter Obi, Threaten Consequences

Anambra youths from Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area have condemned politicians' verbal attacks on Peter Obi, a former Anambra Governor and presidential candidate. The youths issued a statement in Awka on August 20, expressing concern over negative comments made by desperate politicians seeking votes.

They emphasized that any attempt to disparage Obi in their community would be met with peaceful yet determined resistance. The group highlighted Obi's legacy and urged residents to defend him as a symbol of identity and pride.

Additionally, Obi recently commended the military for their efforts in fighting terrorism and urged for better equipment and training to sustain progress. Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is reportedly divided on whether to field Obi or former president Goodluck Jonathan in the 2027 election, with various party factions supporting different candidates.
