Nigerian Labour Congress Declares Nationwide Protest Over Insecurity

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has announced plans for nationwide protests on December 17 to address the rising insecurity in Nigeria, following a series of criminal incidents, including the recent abduction of female students. The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, expressed concerns over the security situation and called for a full investigation into the recent school kidnappings.

Additionally, the appointment of General Christoph Musa as the new Minister of Defence was highlighted, replacing Abubakar Badaru. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) also suspended its two-week warning strike.

These developments underscore the growing security challenges in Nigeria.
