Former world champion Anthony Joshua is eyeing a comeback fight in Africa, with Ghana being the frontrunner to host the event. Joshua, whose parents are Nigerian, recently visited Accra Sports Stadium with his team to discuss the possibility of staging a mega event in early 2026.

Matchroom Boxing's Frank Smith and adviser Freddie Cunningham led the Ghana visit, exploring potential opponents like French Olympic champion Tony Yoka and DR heavyweight Martin Bakole. There is also talk of a lucrative showdown with Jake Paul or a dream fight with Tyson Fury if he ends his latest retirement.

If the fight in Accra materializes, it would be the biggest boxing night in Ghana since Azumah Nelson's era, giving Joshua the opportunity to make history in Africa.
